Living With Asthma:
What to Do

Caring for a child with asthma is a big responsibility for any parent. Asthma triggers may be lurking around every corner, and it’s not always easy to know the best way to protect your child. But helping your child achieve asthma control is a goal that may be within reach. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind that many parents just like you have found helpful.

  • Work with your child’s doctor to select the correct long-term controller (preventive) medication
  • Manage your child’s asthma triggers, keeping in mind that some triggers may be seasonal and easy to miss
  • Work with the doctor to design an asthma action plan for your child
  • Educate your family, friends, and caregivers so they can help when needed

Take a look below to see how you can achieve each of these goals.
